In 2018, UKKO.fi started a new company within the corporation. I was tasked with creating the new brand, including everything from logos and brand guides to designing the website that was then constructed by a programmer.

I also had a big impact on the strategies and the execution of the marketing, since I created a considerable amount of it and was very involved in the planning of the big lines too.

Brand identity

Since UKKO Work was a part of a bigger group, it’s style had to be somewhat in line with the original UKKO.fi brand. However, it needed to also stand out to avoid causing the customers confusion.

With these guidelines I started the design process, checking in with the founders of the group and the new CEO to make sure everyone was happy with the end result. In the end this brand was created, and then I got to work to actually make the plans a reality.

Cost effective marketing through earned visibility

As a new company, our marketing budget was not at the level of our established competitors. To turn the odds in our favor we used two effective ways to get people’s attention: humor and education.

This kind of guerrilla approach had varying results, but sometimes paid off greatly! Our most succesful humor video got over 140 000 views, greatly outperforming the views our paid marketing got. I scripted, animated and shot a lot of these videos.

Other assets

A growing company needs all kinds of different assets, and I am used to creating whatever is needed. During my UKKO.fi career I’ve created things from corona masks and web series to branded flying sharks, and I enjoy figuring out how to do something new!
